Electronics are an integral part of our daily lives. From our smartphones to our cars, everything contains electronic components. Inside these electronic devices are printed circuit boards, also known as PCBs. Most people recognize printed circuit boards when they see them, so let's define it simply: They are the little green chips and pieces of copper that we find inside electronic devices, covered with lines, which allow current to pass between small components. As circuits became more complex, the vias became thinner and to prevent oxidation, the copper vias began to be coated with a special paint, referred to as solder mask. This insulating material consists of a mixture of glas-epoxy and is known these days as fiberglass.
